A Nomad’s Life in Tibet – a virtual photo exhibition
12 December – 12 January
The nomadic shepherds of Tibet developed a sustainable lifestyle over centuries in total harmony with the delicate ecosystem of the Tibetan plateau. Today, however, the nomadic tradition is slowly disappearing for cultural, political and climatic reasons, in favour of sedentarisation and urbanisation.
🗻In January 2020, thanks to funds from Provincia autonoma di Bolzano, we launched a project aimed at ensuring the economic and food self-sufficiency of the most disadvantaged nomadic communities, improving the management of pastoral resources and increasing the productivity of herds in the Domda district (Qinghai, China).
