The Bridge – Equal Opportunities in Educating Territories

il-ponte-progetto

WHERE

Rome – San Basilio and Tor Cervara districts, with ASIA’s intervention at the Nicolai Comprehensive Institute.

CONTEXT

The project originates in the peripheral districts of San Basilio and Tor Cervara in Rome, areas marked by significant phenomena of educational poverty, early school leaving, socio-economic fragility and limited access to cultural and educational opportunities for children and adolescents. These critical issues are compounded by the weakness of local educational networks, the shortage of safe gathering spaces and the need to strengthen dialogue between schools, families and the local community. In this context, the project “The Bridge – Equal Opportunities in Educating Territories”, promoted within the framework of the Fund to Combat Child Educational Poverty financed by Con i Bambini, aims to build a more cohesive and inclusive educating community through integrated actions addressed to minors, families, schools and the territory. ASIA contributes to the project through activities carried out at the Nicolai Comprehensive Institute, with particular attention to the promotion of emotional and relational wellbeing, global citizenship education and the strengthening of the educational skills of teachers and families. The interventions proposed by ASIA use participatory and experiential methodologies, such as mindfulness, emotional education and intercultural education, with the aim of fostering students’ personal growth, improving the school climate and reinforcing the school’s role as a cornerstone of the educating community.
